One interchange, and an airport on the doorstep
From Waukesha or Brookfield the drive to Mitchell is about 30 minutes, closer to 40 from Pewaukee, and nearly all of the variation lives in one place. The Zoo Interchange is where I-94, I-894 and US 45 meet, and on a weekday morning it can add real time on its own. We set pick-up times from out here around the interchange rather than the mileage, which is why they can look early on the confirmation.
Waukesha County Airport is the arrival most people out here do not think of. It sits on the north side of Waukesha, a few minutes from downtown, and private aircraft come into UES for the headquarters in this part of the county. We work the arrival with Atlantic Aviation or Stein's, whichever is handling the aircraft, so the vehicle is waiting on the ramp before the engines are off.
Dane County Regional is also within reach from here, about 80 minutes west on I-94, which makes a flight that only leaves from Madison a practical option rather than a long one. And Pewaukee is where Lake Country begins: the lake communities west of it along I-94 are the same service on the same terms.
