Frequently asked questions
The things people ask before they book, answered without the hedging. Anything specific to one service is answered on that service page, and linked from here rather than repeated.
Booking, policies and the fine print
How can I pay?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, cash, company check, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Bitcoin. For a retail reservation a card is required and is charged in full when the booking is confirmed. Corporate accounts can request monthly billing instead.
Can we drink in the vehicle?
We cannot provide alcohol, but passengers 21 and over may bring their own and drink it in a chauffeur-driven vehicle in Wisconsin. Our public passenger license is a limo permit, which is what allows it. The chauffeur can end a trip without a refund if it stops being reasonable, which has more or less never come up.
Can we eat in the vehicle?
Yes, and ordinary crumbs are ordinary. The line is a mess that needs professional cleaning to put right, which carries a cleaning fee starting at $250. In practice the only time we have ever charged it was for smoking.
Can we smoke in the vehicle?
No. Every passenger after you is entitled to a vehicle that does not smell of the last one, and it is the one rule we have actually had to enforce. Ignoring it carries a cleaning fee starting at $250. The booking contact is responsible for everyone in the party, not only the lead passenger.
What if I need to cancel?
It depends what you booked. Airport transfers are free to cancel up to four hours out, ordinary reservations up to 24 hours, and dated events like game days and weddings run on a sliding scale because the date cannot be resold. Whatever a cancellation does cost you can go toward a future reservation instead, for 12 months.
How long will the chauffeur wait?
The fare includes 15 minutes. After that, waiting runs at $2.00 a minute on an SUV, $2.25 on a VIP SUV and $2.50 on a VVIP SUV, billed in 15 minute blocks. Airport pick-ups are different: 30 minutes for a domestic arrival and 60 for an international one, counted from when the plane actually reaches the gate rather than when it was scheduled to.
Can I bring a dog?
Yes. The only condition is the same one that applies to everything else in the vehicle: a mess that needs professional cleaning carries a cleaning fee starting at $250. Tell us at booking so the chauffeur knows.
Can you carry a wheelchair user?
Partly, and it is worth being clear about which part. If the passenger can transfer into the vehicle with some assistance, yes, and the chair travels in the back. If the passenger needs to stay in the chair for the journey, no. Our vehicles are SUVs and none of them takes a ramp or a lift, so that is a job for an operator with a purpose-built vehicle.
I left something in the car.
Call the office. The chauffeur checks the vehicle between runs, so most things turn up quickly. We will get it back to you, though the cost of returning it is yours, and we cannot take responsibility for what gets left behind.
How far ahead do I need to book?
For a Milwaukee pick-up, often the same day. The further out the pick-up is, and the more vehicles are involved, the more notice helps, because the chauffeur has to get there before you do. Game days, Summerfest weekends and wedding season fill up well in advance.
Answered properly elsewhere
These have a page of their own, because the detail that matters does not fit in a paragraph.
- How much does it cost? Flat and all-inclusive, quoted before you book. Base fare, limo tax and a 20% chauffeur gratuity are in the number, and nothing is added afterwards. Black car service.
- What happens if my flight is delayed? Nothing you need to do. The flight is tracked from the moment you book and the pick-up moves with it. Airport transportation.
- How many people fit, and how much luggage? Up to 6 Six large checked suitcases or the equivalent, and roughly double that with the third row folded. The fleet, tier by tier.
- Is a limo the same thing as a black car? For almost everyone asking, yes. Same booking, same chauffeur, same vehicle. Milwaukee still issues the permit as a limo permit. Limo service.
- Do you set up an account for a company? Yes. Named account, one point of contact, and monthly billing on request rather than a card at the end of each trip. Corporate car service.
- Where do you drive? Milwaukee and the surrounding counties, the lakeshore to Kohler and Green Bay, lake country to Lake Geneva, and the Chicago route. If your pick-up is not on that list, ask anyway. Service area.
Ask. It reaches me, not a queue.
If the question is not here, it is probably a good one. Email during the business day is usually answered the same day.
